One of my favourite artists is Raoul Dufy - well, I certainly LOVED his works that are exhibited in the main gallery in Nice, France. When I saw this image by Australian artist Donald Friend, it reminded me straight away of the Frenchman's work. This painting is called "Strand on the Green". It is currently being exhibited at the Eva Breuer Art Dealer Gallery. Apparently this work on paper was inspired by a visit to an area in London called Strand on the Green in Chiswick West - not far from where I used to live a few years ago.
