Overview

Handwoven from sustainably harvested natural fibres, our Seagrass Rugs bring warmth, structure and refined earthiness to everyday living spaces.

Celebrated for their durability and natural resilience, seagrass is a practical choice for high-traffic areas, dining rooms, living spaces and busy family homes. The weave is firm, textural and naturally hardwearing, making it especially well suited to spaces where furniture, chairs and daily movement are part of the room’s rhythm.

Each rug is made by hand from individual 30cm x 30cm seagrass squares, which are joined together to create the final size. This construction gives the rugs their distinctive grid-like texture and also means custom sizing must work in 30cm increments.

Durability

Seagrass is a strong, structured natural fibre and is well suited to everyday use. These rugs work beautifully under dining tables, in living rooms, entries and other high-use areas where a more delicate rug may not be practical.

As with all handmade natural-fibre pieces, some movement, tonal variation and settling should be expected over time. This is part of the character of the material and the handwoven construction.

Custom Sizes

Custom rugs are made to order with lead times of around 10 weeks.

Because each rug is made from 30cm x 30cm squares, custom sizing must be configured in 30cm increments. This means we may suggest the closest available size slightly above or below your requested measurements.

For example, if your ideal size falls between two square configurations, we will provide the closest suitable options for you to choose from.

Underlay

A non-slip underlay is not always essential, particularly for larger seagrass rugs placed under heavy furniture such as a dining table. The weight of the rug, together with the table and chairs, will generally help anchor it in place.

That said, an underlay can still be useful depending on your floor surface. It may help protect the floor underneath, reduce subtle movement from chairs being pulled in and out, and help the rug sit more comfortably over time. A breathable underlay can also assist with airflow, especially in humid environments.

If your floor is very smooth, polished, delicate or prone to marking, we recommend using a breathable rug underlay suitable for your specific flooring type.

• Small: 150cm × 210cm (for entry, kitchen, bedrooms and small living areas) - available for dispatch now
• Medium: 210cm × 300cm (for medium dining and living rooms) - dispatch from Mid April 2026
• Large: 240cm × 360cm(for large dining and living rooms) - dispatch from mid April 2026. Due to scale and weight, this rug is shipped via specialised freight.

Lead Time

In-stock items ship within 3–4 business days. Custom items have a lead time of approximately 10 weeks from confirmation and payment.

Shipping is available within Australia only.

The Price of seagrass rugs includes standard delivery to most Australian addresses. For remote, regional or difficult to access locations, we may need to confirm freight before dispatch.
